When magnanimity rains, it pours.
This is a minor revision of the idiom “When it rains, it pours” which means “misfortunes or difficult situations tend to follow each other in rapid succession or to arrive all at the same time.” Clearly this connotes negative circumstances in one’s life unlike the meaning of the aforementioned edited expression.
As an adult who’d been through a tough life, I can always substantiate the trueness of this idiom, be it the original or the revised edition. Given a choice, I would rather experience the latter version all the time. Hahaha…Well, life is no bed of roses always that’s why having come into contact with people who let you go through it once in a while is already a big blessing.
So tonight, permit me to talk about someone who has concretized the principles which I have just expressed.
A Qatar-based regular follower and poster of Wandering Jouster, this gracious lady brought home a pasalubong for me amidst the melancholic reason for her emergency vacation in the Philippines last September.
What she had for me was the second biggest surprise for WJ, having recently received one from the Tan family last month.
A gorgeous baaaaaagggggggggg!
So, what prompted this person to extend her generosity and kindness to me despite only knowing each other via my blog? Hmmm… I am in luck! I am the sister of her very good friend, my older brother Joseph.
Their friendship was forged when she was still working at Holiday Plaza, Pasay City 20 years ago. And how did I learn about this? She accidentally bumped into WJ while searching for Joseph, whom I suspect to be either a Neanderthal or an escapee from ex-girlfriends because he does not own even one social media account. 🤔😂🤣😜 Thanks a heap to the search engine which directed her to my blog, she had reconnected with my sibling and I now have a very industrious visitor and commentator by the name of Josephine Quiles Alavera. Yehey! Since her maiden post in my article “It’s Been A Year…” on August 20, Josephine has showered me a lot of uplifting words which have inspired me more as a blogger and as a human being.
Thank you very much, Josephine. More than the gift, I will hold dear your affection not only for my brother and his daughter but for me as well. Likewise, I can’t thank you enough for the time and patronage which you give to WJ. I can only wish great things for you and your family today and every day.
