crystal clear

gardening is part of my routine every time i am on break.

as i went out to do this task this morning, i was filled with joy upon seeing one “daisy” (this is the personal name i gave this plant because i forgot the real one) in full bloom in its lavender color! and mind you, i was the one who planted this.

the sight of this fresh flower made me smile. it was a perfect substitute for the bouquet which my husband would give me on our wedding anniversary which is actually today. well, his failure to do so for our 15th anniversary was understandable and he personally explained it early this morning (1:3o a.m. ksa time) when he called me up to greet me on our special day. he could not contact anyone whom he could again secretly request to order for him unlike the previous years.

obviously, i love flowers. and larry knows that very well. why not when it was through red roses that he was able to convince me that he was willing to go through difficult courtship despite the distance that separated us only to make me trust his good intentions in 1995.
i won’t be narrating our story here. what i can only claim is that ours can never be a duplication of any romantic love story. it’s unique, colorful and good for publication.
but just like a normal marriage, we have been sharing a roller coaster ride, we have been braving the same storm, we have been feeling the same positive and negative emotions, and we have been safeguarding this relationship in the best way that we can for our children for the past 15 years.
we know we can never be perfect. so with our marriage. but for the efforts that we have been putting in this destined matrimony, i think we deserve to be congratulated.

just like the crystal which our 15th year of marital bliss has for a gem, it will serve as a reminder to value what the Lord has given us to share and to protect “’til death do us part.”
